Money Sent to Pay Bill Was Already Picked Up by Someone Else

I sent money to pay a bill there the person I sent to my friend went to pick it up and it was already picked up by someone else there was two others that happened the same thing it was my last payment. I thought now it's costing me 40 dollars a day extra now I need that money found cause I struggled to get that amount so I would not have to send anymore
