A charge of $79.95 was found on my debit card. I had no idea what it was, so I called them up. He asked me for my credit card number, full name, and the last four digits of my social. I told him I did not want to give them, but he claimed it was the only way to see the account, so I gave them to him. The account is closed today.
He told me he would refund me and asked me if I had accessed my credit report through them recently. I told him I had never even heard of them until that charge. He said my account reflected that I had accessed them through Yahoo Wallet or something from Yahoo. I figured it out: when I paid for something else or signed up with Yahoo Wallet, you know, it asks you if you want any of those other services? I always say no and uncheck the checked ones, but it looks like I missed one.
So not only am I angry with CIC, I am angry with Yahoo for that mistake. Beware of CIC. We are eagerly awaiting a refund from them. I also asked him to take me out of his database.
