My complaint is with Sears Credit Services through Citibank. They telemarketed me, trying to sell life insurance. I told them no on several occasions but received a bill. They had gone ahead and charged my Sears card. I called them and they removed the charges from my card, but this appears on my credit report as delinquent or late charges. A payment can't be delinquent or late if you didn't owe that payment in the first place. They admitted their wrongdoing when they removed the charge from my credit card.
They will not remove the charges from my credit report. They told me they were sorry for any mix-up but they were not removing anything from my credit report. Even though they agreed that the charge wasn't owed, they said it took them past the due date to clear it and therefore it was late. By the way, my card has a 0 balance and has had that balance for some time. I have filed disputes with the credit bureaus and they responded, refusing to remove it from my credit report.
