Credit Card From Receiver Purchase Charged After Cancellation

I moved to a new state where Direct TV could not provide service. A Direct TV supervisor cancelled the service after confirming that service was not possible. Direct TV then used the credit card I had used to purchase a DVD HD receiver to charge me for future services.

The credit card was not given to guarantee the account. They state that since I gave it in the past, they were authorized to use it any way they deem necessary on the account.
