College Works Painting had a written contract to paint our house on May 28, 2007. They did not show up and did not call. The contract was made on 3/24/07, and I put down a $440 deposit. They were supposed to come out in March so that we could choose the paint. When I called them, they would not give me a manager's number or email. Nobody called until May 30, when they set up an appointment because the original sales guy had quit. The new guy did not show up and did not call either. They knew we were trying to paint the house to sell it.
They called after I spoke to the call center manager in CA. I was told that the manager, Eric Barstow, said, "Just give them their money back." They never gave me any options and never asked whether we could move the appointment. They did the same thing to two neighbors. One of them said the paint was cheap and watered down, did not last two years, and had to be redone. They keep changing the name of the company. It is better to paint it yourself than to use these people. They will not give out any other phone numbers or emails. The CEO and owners are Matt Stewart, Jason Reid and Justin Schultz. The sales guy who left us hanging was Eric Barstow.
Now we have to wait to sell the house. We could have sold out. Now we have to do it. College Works Painting are scam artists. I talked to former employees who said they are taught to "scam." They get ripped off like the customer: they do not get paid for jobs and they get lied to. They rip off customers and employees. It is sick.
