FamilyRecRoom refuses to replace new popcorn maker that does not work. Ripoff

My brother, sister and I bought my parents a popcorn maker from Familyrecroom.com for Christmas 2006. The popcorn maker had not been delivered by Christmas Day, so we gave them a picture of it. Three days later they left for Florida for the winter.

When the popcorn maker arrived a few days after they left, we put it in their house where it sat until April when they returned. When my dad finally had the time to open it and put it together, he discovered that the motor did not work. I gave him the email address for the company and he sent them an email describing what happened.

This was his first reply from George Borowski, CEO: Its well past the time we offer a return or warranty. Try contacting the manufacture. Sorry.

After a second email from me explaining the situation, this was his second response: "I am sorry there is nothing we can do past 90 days. Try contacting the Helman Group for technical support."

Again I contacted him and told him how disappointed I was by his company's lack of customer service and that I planned to file a report with the Better Business Bureau and other consumer watch groups. This was his reply: "Its standard retail policy. Try returning something to any store after 90 days and they will tell you the same thing. Most people inspect their items when they purchase it and do not wait 6 months later to report an issue."
