Five Star Painting
Consumer Report

I was quoted a price on painting my cedar home by Ryan Berry, a representative from Cincinnati. It was told to me that I needed to replace about five cedar boards that were old. I said that was ok. The painters started painting in November and December. A couple of weeks into the job, I noticed that the paint was peeling off already. I notified Ryan and they continued painting. What the painters were painting on the back of my house, it did not look like it had been prepped well, i. E, scraping off old paint. When I realized that they were doing nothing about the peeling of paint, I told them to stop what they were doing until I could get it resolved.in the meantime, the number of cedar boards went up from five to about 19. That was not on the original contract and that I needed to send them $3,000. I agreed to send them $1,000. Again, this was not in the original contract. Ryan said we needed to write up another contract and I said no. If I had known I would have needed to replace so many cedar boards, I would not have had it painted. I've asked for my $1897.50 returned to me because they broke my contract and now my house is only partially painted. Now I am in the process of deciding what else I can do. I had the owner of the company down to see what shoddy painting was being done and how Ryan was wanting to add more cedar boards. Of course he backed his company. Ryan, the original rep, needed to be the one who was qualified to tell me that so many more boards needed to be replaced. All I want is my $1897.50 returned to me.
