A way to leave

I feel for you because they have (honestly, in my opinion) been horrendous to deal with. I won't go into detail, but let just say I watched them like a hawk and just stewed over their few cent increases slowly over the months. I just hung up on one of their representatives. They charged me a payment AFTER I cancelled service, when their service agreement says they charge IN ADVANCE. I will pull out the bills and bank statements from first day and put the pieces together so I am sure I am correct when I call back.
Thankfully, I got to cancel TWO accounts with them and here's how. Spread the word!
Virgin Mobile has a unit called "Mifi - 2200". It's available on-line and at Walmart for $149.00. That is a one-time purchase price and the unit is yours. Then you can pay 40.00 whatever NORMAL regulatory fees/taxes there are, with no contract for only the months you want (you can go on and off as you wish) for UNLIMITED INTERNET, without having to have a Virgin Mobile Cell Phone account. You can also do a "pay as you go" setup where you buy megabytes, I think 10 at a time, again as you wish, only when you wish.
The Mifi-2200 unit lets you connect up to 5 devices, such as computer, roku, etc. Wirelessly. If you check the Virgin Mobile Coverage chart on-line, you can see if your area is covered. The Mifi signal is broadcast on the Sprint 3G network, so their coverage chart should help you as well.
So far I've had it for a couple of months and am very satisfied. I have used it on the road at various times in various places and it's very helpful. I got to cancel two DSL internet accounts with Windstream and will test it at another home and then I can disconnect that DSL and my spouse can also have a unit. It's the size of a credit card. Get yourself a waterproof case and seal it in a plastic baggy to keep it safe. Noone wants to keep buying units for $149.
Nothing is perfect, but it works as well or better than Windstream and the feeling of relief being away from Windstream is wonderful. Here is the link to their site.

Last I looked they were out of stock on-line with free shipping but several retail stores carry it for same price. Walmart had it listed for $129 with disclaimer price might be different at some stores. It was same $149.99 I could have gotten it for, shipped free. I am going to ask Walmart what stores actually had it for $129.88. Either way, I'm happy with Virgin Mobile's MiFi.
Spread the word, God Bless and Good Luck!
