I called to get service with Direct TV as I moved into my new house. I decided to go with someone else and called to cancel the service and they (Direct TV) wanted to make my package better. So I stayed with them. After the first two weeks of having service with Direct, I called to cancel. They told me that I couldn't because I was in contract agreement for two years and it would be over 400 dollars to cancel. I told them I was told before hook up that I could cancel within 30 days if I wasn't satitfied. They explained to me that I was wrong and that they don't have that kind of service. I had not other opition but to stay with them. After serveral calls and complaining about service and bills and different billing amounts I finally changed. I am in the process of sending everything back to them and waiting on my final bill. Which I will also have to pay over 200 dollars for cancelling early.
