Dear Complaint Now's Specialists,
With this letter i wish to file a report for fraudolent behavior against the company "long distance access"
"Long Distance Access" is located in Oakdale, MN 55128, at 7300 Hudson Boulevard, Suite #265, ph.: 1-866-818-6163. The company was incorporated by Jon GREENE in 2007 and provides, as its name says, long distance telephone services.
On November 26 I was contacted by a certain DAN (Code #5143), who introduced himself as an employee of the company "Long Distance Access", affiliated —Dan immediately reassured me— to my telephone provider, "AT&T".
"Long Distance Access" 's employee Dan told me the following: "Given the limited volume of your calls, in consideration that we want to stay competitive and keep you as a customer, we'll lower the cost of your monthly bills if you take us as your long distance provider".
As Dan identified himself as somehow 'sent' by my telephone provider "AT&T" —something (and this is VERY important) that later on turned out NOT to be true! — and given the economical advantage I was promised as a consequence of such change, I accepted the offer —despite normally being VERY cautious in similar 'unsolicited' circumstances.
But, much to my surprise, my telephone bills, despite having the exact same low (indeed, close to zero) calls traffic as before, instead of decreasing INCREASED UP TO 65%! I had never received such expensive phone bills before!
Interestingly, when last January 21 I called "Long Distance Access" to find out what was happening, and spoke with the employee CORY (Code#1789) by asking him why did the company promise me savings while —so far— I had just experienced financial losses, he politely, but coldly replied that:
"the employee [his own colleague at the firm! ] was just a salesman trying to make a sale".
Then, when I respectfully protested that this 'sale' went against my interest, in sheer contrast with "Long Distance Access" employee's original promise, Cory (Code #1789) replied:
"this is a 'dog-eats-dog' world, sir!"
Now, if the above-mentioned sentence is meant to sum up "Long Distance Access" 's mission statement —as I'm now inclined to believe— well...
I'd alert anybody willing to deal with "long distance access" to stay away!
I would have liked to directly write to the "Long Distance Access" 's manager, but —when I called back for the information needed, they denied me any rep's specific name (another...'nameless' company?), nor they were in the position to provide any e-mail address whatsoever (very, very unusual, these times!).
By visiting "Long Distance Access" 's official website: LDAccess. Longdistancegroup.com, I found it to be one of the most cryptic and less accessible websites I have ever seen in my whole life: no 'Contact' option, no 'About Us' section and, once again, NO REP's NAME —which, of course, speaks volumes about this company's lack of transparency.
On your same website I found the following complaint letter about "Long Distance Access" which confirms I am NOT the only one having experienced this company's fraudolent behavior.By the way: there are already three complaints about "Long Distance Access" on your site.

Preditory telephone solicitation
I was contacted by this company. They represented themselves as AT&T. They solicitor said they are employed by AT&T. This is not true. They are a separate company called Long Distance Access. I was scammed by their company and was talked into signing up for their service. This is a fraudulent company following unethical business practices.
