Multiple Issues, False and Untrustworthy Representations - Satelite TV and Internet

When I lived at previous location I had a landlord's TV. I do not own a TV. When Dish installed the service this was known to them. I explained that if I moved I would probably not continue the TV service. I also had internet service. At some intervals both before and after move to a different location one or more company representatives confirmed this to be okay and at other intervals contradicted the position. I also had internet which when I moved was denounced by honest Dish TECH who said it was substandard in new area and discouraged its installation.

At this juncture I got on the phone with Dish people (in the presence of the Tech) and was led to believe that I would not be held to my contract. I was told they would be sending a box to ship back the equipment.

When the box did not show up, after about 10 days began to suspect some issue and attendants at Dish did not acknowledge anything that had been earlier represented. There was no record. Evidently some 'manager' decided to delete or alter the record, a practice that people in Academia might wish to investigate in a study and relate to the morale of employees (perhaps a competitor would fund such research). If anyone wants more feedback on how a study of former and current Dish Representatives might be conducted, feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] or call 918-208-1615. There is an incredible abundance of information about the extreme duplicity of Dish Management online and many false and "tricky" representations. I believe that a cultural and mental disorder affecting employees of dishonest management whose honesty and good will and friendly personality are ruthlessly exploited can be identified. I believe that it could become known as the "Dish Syndrome" in business and psychology journals and perhaps even textbooks. I warned the most recent online representative (an online damage control 'helping angel' that this just reprisal could be implemented if Dish did not stop its harassing attempts to collect. The latest twist is an e-mail from this woman indicating that there is no charge for the TV, but they are still trying to collect for the internet.

My advise to anyone in the beginning stages of a problem with Dish.
1. Do not believe anything that you are told by a Dish Representative, because management evidently routinely undermines and/or erases those representations.
2. Get any representation in writing immediately.
3. CANCEL YOUR CREDIT or DEBIT CARD and explain in detail to your bank just how dishonest the company is. Explain the "Dish Syndrome" so this will become part of banking and business nomenclature and save you an exhausting explanation which Dish is hoping to create by multiple evil acts and confusion to discourage your adequate self defense.
4. Do not negotiate on grounds that have already been conceded by a Dish Representative.
5. Do not deal with the hack attorney who identifies himself as "Badger". There is nothing but empty arrogance and aggression, no moral compass... Simply a hatchet man.
6. Think twice about a better business bureau involvement in terms of negotiating a "settlement". It is a very good idea to make a complaint to a BBC. It is often a bad idea to agree to terms that are not reasonable. Splitting the difference is often still very unjust to a Dish customer and this should be made known at the time of complain.
7. Complain online in places where there are no complaints. Do not pile on complaints in a place where thousands exist.
