Direct TV Agents Need Training - False Advertising

I received a flyer in the mail that says switch back to Direct TV and bundle with our trusted partner AT&T to receive our promotional offer. When I phoned to sign up with Direct TV I told the agent that I was currently an AT&T Uverse customer. She told me it's ok and that when I switch to Direct TV all I have to do is phone the Uverse customer service dept & they will automatically bundle me with Direct TV at the promotional rate. She also told me to receive this offer I needed to sign a 2yr contract. I accepted these terms & agreed to 2yrs. She also told me not to call AT&T Uverse until the direct tv installer puts up our dish first because I will need the order/account number for AT&T to bundle internet & phone with the dish. Big mistake & not true. The reason I switched in the first place was to lower my monthy bill since Uverse raised the price. AT&T told me that the promotion with Direct TV only applies to new customers that do not currently have Uverse & they are unable to honor Direct TV's promotional rate. I spent hours and days argueing with Direct TV & their trusted partner AT&T & my rate was even higher then before I switched. Direct TV was blameing AT&T for not honoring the promotion & vice versa. Trust me it was a big headache & it all started with Direct TV untrained agent. Now I have 2 seperate bills, 1 from Direct TV for the TV & 1 from AT&T for internet & phone and never did get the promotional offer. Another surprise is that a direct tv agent suggested that I cancel with AT&T Uverse & then start up as a new customer. Sounded like a great idea but AT&T said there is a 6mo waiting period to become a new customer after a cancellation. She said, " everyone would cancel and try to start up as new customer to get promo prices". Bottom line, Direct Tv's flyers fine print does not state that you cannot be an exsisting AT&T customer to recieve the promotion and the agents are either deceptive or untrained.
