I do not recommend Planet Fitness to anyone. I signed up so I'd have a place to run when it's cold out, but when I cancelled my membership earlier this month, they charged me for January anyway. Apparently, I cancelled it 3 days late, so they refuse to refund me the $16.05. On top of that, every employee I spoke to about it to contest the fee, save for one, was dismissive, uncaring, and rude.
While I think it's unethical and a poor business decision to be charged for services they are not actually providing for the entire month of January, I will say it was pretty interesting seeing how differently people respond when you take your complaint directly to the financial head, billing head, and CEO of a company - all of whom I emailed directly. I find it deeply disappointing that I had to take my complaint all the way to the head of the company just to get appropriate customer service, and because of this, I would not suggest subjecting yourself to dealing with this company.
