I booked a room in NYC and called to cancel the reservation because there is no electricity or power in the area for the time I'm schedule to stay, expedia.com has refused to refund me the money for the reservation, I even asked for a credit, but they said it was against their policy until they spoke with the hotel, however without electricity there is no way to contact the hotel. It's unbelievable that I was on hold for two hours with customer service and they still refused to make this exception when people are dieing in an area affected so strongly by a natural disaster.
