Misleading and horrible policy

I made hotel plans as I was moving over 1000 miles to a new destination. I booked a hotel on August 11, at 2:15 P.M. EST not realizing the ridiculous policy of cancellation (no opportunity really). I had an emergency come up and called to cancel the reservation at 11:00 P.M. The same day. (or just move it to the following day) I was told that the full amount would be charged to my credit card. An email was sent to me at 1:15 CST stating that a reservation must be cancelled by 12;00 PM on August 11 in order to receive a refund. (this cancellation time is before I even made my reservation) How can we allow companies to have these stupid policies that mean nothing? How could I possibly cancel a reservation before it is made? I disputed this wit my credit card company and they said there was nothing they could do. I will use ths as a $79.99 lesson for future travel. Never use priceline as they are deceptive. I will personally tell everyone I know that this company has no class or professionalism creating a ridiculous cancellation policy that cannot be followed. No one at the company was willing to work with me or change the date of reservation etc. I hope no one in this company ever has an emergency to deal with!
