Last year, I heard of an affordable promotion on a cruise to the Bahamas. The travel agency was called Cancun Global Tours in a partnership with Royal Vacation Resorts. This promotion included two nights for two people on the Bahamas Celebration; as well as, two tickets to the Universal park in Orlando. The price was $270 which they told me was all-inclusive and the final price. This month, we decided to use the tickets before they expired. We called several times to reserve, which was a difficult process, they asked to sign many forms and send them all of my personal information, such as, drivers license, social, credit card, and passport numbers. They explained that once they received these documents, they would send the itinerary. The agent I spoke with claimed she would call me in half an hour.
A few hours later, with no call from the agency, I decided to call. They finally informed us that there were several fees and taxes which all amounted to exactly $599.99. They also created different excuses as to why the tickets to universal studios were not included anymore. I payed the outstanding fee, the first few calls were rejected and the next one, I was hung up on while I was on hold. I began to feel a bit nervous. I spent several emails and got no answer.
Two days before the travel date, the agent I spoke with finally answered and told me she would send the itinerary soon and rushed me off the phone. I did not receive this email until the next day, one day before the trip, I was also not told that the port was from West Palm Beach, as they knew I lived in Fort Lauderdale (1.5 hours away).
When we finally decided to pay the fees, hoping the trip would be worth it. We got to the port and were charged with the fuel fees per person as well as tips, which amounted to $100. The room we received was an interior, no ocean view, with a jammed door. Speaking with others on the cruise, I realized they had paid half the price I did for an addition pair of days.
I have browsed other cruise prices and realize that I was completely RIPPED-OFF.
