My now husband and I hired Celebration Limousine from La Crosse, WI to provide limo service after our wedding. We sent in the required deposit of approximately $400 total to secure their services. We communicated by phone and mail getting everything situated, such as directions to the church and we had a signed contract for the amount to be paid and everything.
On the day of our wedding, October 18, we waited after our ceremony for a good 45 minutes for the limo to arrive. After it didn't we rounded up some vehicles and went on our way. After arriving home after a very long but wonderful day other than the limo not arriving, we had received a message on our answering machine stating that the limo had been "stuck in park" and they were unable to get it fixed in time. It had also been "checked over" the previous day and was supposedly ready to go. The person we had been dealing with, Bob Potter stated that he was very sorry and that we would receive a full refund. We thought great and left for our honeymoon expecting our refund to be in the mail when we returned a week later.
After we returned from our honeymoon there was no refund check, so we decided to call and see what was the deal. Basically, Bob Potter kept making excuses saying that his partner was out of town and his parner's daughter was in a car accident and he couldn't do anything without his partner being there to OK it. We went back and forth like this several times to no avail. One time he even hung up on my husband.
Following all of this, we decided to write a letter to the Attorney General of Wisconsin to file a complaint. After a while we received a letter from the Attorney General with a copy of a letter from Celebration Limousine and Bob Potter stating that he in no way ever hung up on anyone and that a refund was (again) in the mail. So we thought finally, we would get our money back. However, once again we waited and waited and are still waiting today to receive our money. So, make sure you don't have to pay before you actually get your services!
