First of all, I want to say "THANK GOD FOR THIS WEBSITE!". Last week I too received the "supposedly great" offer in the mail from Ramada Plaza Resorts. I called right away and had no intentions of purchasing anything because I hadn't spoke to my husband about it, but by the end of the phone conversation which lasted at least an hour, I had put a 349.00 down payment on the 698.00 trip. The only reason I did was because I kept telling them "no" and then they would offer me something else.
By the time I hung up the phone I had the Florida trip including the cruise, the two bonus trips PLUS 10 more trips throughout the U.S. The next morning, realizing that I had been really stupid, I called my credit card company to see how much money they had charged on my card. The lady at the credit card company told me that they had taken the 349.00 and had put an "authorized hold" on my card, meaning that I had NO credit available on my card. I started to panic.
I called the company right away and told them that I had not authorized anyone to put a hold on my account. The guy I spoke to "Walfre" told me not to worry that it would fall off within a few days. I told him I wanted it removed immediately and wanted my money back as well. He gave me the run around, transferred me to someone else, blah blah... I eventually just hung up on them because I was getting nowhere with them.
When I got off the phone I went online and found this website. This is when I really started to panic. The credit card company told me there was nothing they could do about it so I decided to call RPR back again. I asked for the same guy but "George" told me that he was the one that I needed to speak to.
I demanded that they give me my money back immediately. He kept asking me why and I told him "I don't have to give you a reason just give me my money back." He was so persistent that I finally said "listen, I went online and there is alot of negative stuff on there about your company." After I said that, he had nothing to say except give me a cancellation number! He told me it would take approximately 5-10 business days. This happened last Wednesday and my credit card was reimbursed for the full amount today!!! So, obviously mentioning the bad rep this company has paid off!!!
