They called me about 2 weeks ago. First part of August. The woman said that I had won a vacation and that I could choose from any other 3day/2night vacation package and get it cheaper if I became a member of their Travel Agents Network, which costs $149.
She then stated that I could save money in long distance with their Stay In Touch plan, and it would cost me $49.95/month. Also said something about a package that would cost me $19.95 per month. She stated that I would have 7 days from the time I received the package to cancel and not be billed at all.
She said that I would receive a package in my mail that was blue, and it would have all the numbers in it to cancel. After I hung up the phone, I proceeded to check out the company online. Because after we hung up. That excited feeling of winning a vacation, ended up becoming a deep thud in the pit of my stomach.
I found this site which gave me the numbers to call to cancel. Which I did immediately that same day. Well I guess with my "cancelation call" they decided NOT to send me the package... But guess what. They still charged my bank account today. $149
I have filed a report with my Consumer Protection Division with my State Attorney General's Office. I have asked that a class action lawsuit be filed against these fraudulent people.in the state of Arkansas, they take these matters very seriously and will do what they can to put these people away.
I will keep everyone updated as to what my A. General's office says about it.
I am also filing a police report and telling my bank about this company. I called the number given to the President's house. And I got this answering machine with a child's voice telling me that I called the right number, but at the wrong time. And the child spouted off a cell phone number... (727-367-7079).
I hope that we can get together and put these people in jail where they belong! All I wanted was to surprise my husband on our 10 yr. Anniversary with this vacation!!!
