Expedia fees and canellation

I made an Exxpedia reservation on line last minute. I instantly knew I entered the wrong date.
I called customer service, they said it was to late to cancel. I would have to pay for that night and the night I wanted. Finally they agreed to the cancellation. But I had to pay $20 more for the night I wanted. At the hotel I found out the original expedia discount price was more than the hotels walkin price. Never again.
