Booked a room reservation online with Expedia.com then went to the hotel website to check out the restaurants etc and noticed their rate was $35 cheaper per night. Called Expedia and the rep said she had to check with her supervisor. The Best Price Guarantee states that it is for the base rate only not additional fees etc. - which is fine I confirmed this several times on the phone prior to requesting my price match and the coupon since their price was not the price. However the rep comes back and states that I used a coupon so the difference is only $10 per night. How does that occur when the guarantee is on the base rate only. The kicker is the coupon was from the the class action lawsuit regarding their shady practices. I suggest to travelers to book their hotels through hotels.com as they keep their word and have been honorable everytime I have used them.
