We are recently retired and signed up Gold Crown Resort through their San Diego representatives in Horton Plaza in San Diego, CA. They told us that they represented luxury resorts and time shares at a deeply discounted price and discounts on hotels, airfares, and other travel services. Once we got into the program, it was clear that most of the time share condos are at older and not the luxury properties that we expected.
The hotel and cruise rates are good but not really any better than what we could do on sites such as Travelocity, Kayak, etc. We paid $9000 to get access to these "discounted" luxury vacations and that just hasnt happened. We booked a cruise and a hotel with them but really didnt see the rates as better than any other internet service. Dont think that we will ever recover the $9000 in value.
Portfolio to Paradise has an office in Horton Plaza but it has been 3 months since we joined and dont think we can get our money back. It takes a while to get familiar with the site and find out what you really have purchased. The "incentives" they give you for going to their presentation have so many restrictions that they are almost impossible to use. We are savy travelers and good with our money so almost embarrased that we were ripped off like this. They play on your dreams and dont deliver on their promises.
