Ramada Plaza Resorts Orlando - Ft. Lauderdale Vacations
Ripoff misleading scam

I, as many others, have been mislead into thinking that I would be going on the trip of a lifetime. I am booked to travel in just under 2 weeks and am very nervous of the awaiting accommodations and lengthy presentations. Unfortunately it took me 3 years to find this website and now I want to cancel my trip and get a full refund.

I remember the package looking too good to be true, so when my boyfriend and I were talking to the sales rep in July we asked the man dozens of questions. His main selling point was that I would be able to sell the bonus vacations to help subsidize the cost of the trip. (Being a university student, AND paying in $CDN this was important) He even told us that we could MAKE $ by selling all the bonuses!!!

When the verification people talked to me to get my cc details I again asked all the questions and was assured that the only extra costs would be the travel to Florida and our meals on land - everything else was included in the cost of $698 x 2 people. Knowing that paper trails are very important, I asked if I would be getting a cc receipt indicating how much I paid, when I paid, details of what I was getting, etc, etc. The verification person ensured me that it would all come in the mail with my welcome package.

The package came and no cc receipt. I called right away to point out the mistake. "No, we don't send cc receipts, your monthly cc statement is proof that you paid" I asked for a refund. I was told "NO" Also to my surprise, the bonus vacations could only be used (by me or someone I could sell them to) AFTER the primary trip was taken. Well, not having the money to take the primary trip I waited and saved.

Oct rolls around and RPR calls me, "your package is about to expire. If you pay for the remainder today we will give you a free car rental upgrade, free outside cabin on the cruise, 2 free 2-day passes to Universal Studios and a 2 for 1 meal voucher. I said ok and asked for the cc receipt again, along with written verification that I would receive the new freebies. The promotions rep said that all the information would be entered into the computer and I was assured that I would get them. I explained that I could not take the trip yet because I was going overseas for a year for school. The rep extended my vacation package by another 18 months for FREE.

Feb - a rep calls me to say that my package has EXPIRED! If I pay the "remainder" right then, they will still let me go on the trip. (I'm overseas right now and my family is confused so they call me right away). I call back to point out RPR's error and of course I'm put on hold forever...

To shorten this up...
I've faxed the RPR's Compliance dept (see above fax #)
Filed complaints with BBB, Florida Dept. Of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs and started a dispute claim with my cc company. I'm calling RPR again tomorrow and I'll let you know when I get my refund.

DON"T GIVE UP! File the complaints, be polite and persistant!
