WorldWide Travel Services VIP Wholesale is a rip-off

I hate that I have to admit to this but I was also a victim of the VIP Wholesale, World Wide Travel Services Scam. A friend told me that they were taking a trip to Vegas and had a really good deal and asked me if I would like to join them. I told them yes so I was given the name of the company and the contact person that I should talk to in order to add myself to the group that was going. I spoke to a woman that answered the phone by saying, "Reservations" I told her that I wanted to be added to the group traveling to Las Vegas and she then told me that I needed to pay 150.00 with a check and she needed the information from my checking account to make the transaction. She then transferred me to, supposedly, another department to confirm that I was giving them authorization to get the money from my account for the trip.

After about three weeks of hearing nothing my group became concerned and started calling to find out what was taking so long for the package information to arrive by mail. We were told that something would be coming within the next week and we did get a strange email with some kind of Travel ID# and we were then advised to contact the companywith that number. When I called back they told me that I now needed to pay the 35.00 booking fee. Once I made that transaction they told me that I should be hearing from them in about a week with regard to the date that we selected. We never heard back and when we called three weeks later to find out what was going on, we started getting the run around, we were sent an email stating that the company was "closing and shutting its doors." We called very concerned and they told us that our package wouldn't be effected by what they called their closing of one department, marketing and that our trip was still good.

We waited a couple more weeks and called back and were told that we hadn't sent in enough money and all they had on record was a 35.00 booking fee. We told them about the 150.00 payment and they said they new nothing about that because they are only the booking agent for a number of travel agencies and we would need to contact the travel agency that we booked the trip with to find out about that even though I called the travel agency and was transferred to them when I started to complain about the package not arriving. A man told me that his name was Robert Thornton and that he was the President of Worldwide Travel Services and that he was only obligated to offer me two night stay in Vegas but no airfare as originally promised, and he since it was based on double occupancy, I needed to pay an additional 35.00 booking fee to get that going.

A total scam, I can't believe I fell for it... Please, Please don't do any business with VIP Wholesale or any of their other aliases Worldwide Travel Services etc...
