I can't begin to express how dissatisfied I am with my first experience with Jet Blue. I reserved a flight for my 13yr old son from LAX to JFK. Was unaware of an unaccompanied minor charge. My son leaves LAX to JFK with no problem. On his way back he was denied access to board the plane until I paid $85. For an unaccompanied minor fee that I was unaware of.

I called customer service and was tranferred to a very rude and insensitive manager who basically told me I should be thanking them that I was not charged the fee when my son left LAX.
I asked her to transfer me to another manager and she refused and hung up in my face.

Called back and got another manager who was just as rude and insesitive as the last manager. Refused to give me addresses and names of superiors.

It's not as much about the $85. As it is about the principle. You don't treat 1st time customers like that. What if they were not able to get intouch with me? Would my 13yr old son have been stuck in New York?

Furthermore, if the unaccompanied minor charge is a part of the cost for minors to fly, why not charge is at the time of booking? That is a very loose process. If it's stated and I say that I did not see it and was not charged when he left LAX, why not let the $85 pass? I mean really, what is $85 to keep a first time customer happy?

I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND jet blue to anyone.
