Parents of Unaccompanied Minors Beware of Deception

Just wanted to warn all parents of children who fly as unaccompanied minors on Frontier Airlines, if you booked online, you have been deceived.
My 12 year old daughter lives in Colorado with my ex-wife and my family lives in Sacramento, CA. Needless to say, my daughter is an avid flyer and travels between the two states at least 5-10 per year for visitation. She is a very experienced flyer. With the current economy, I price shop on her plane tickets to save money. I booked her on Frontier because it was $40 less than the next cheapest competitor, Southwest. I booked the ticket the ticket online as I always due, paid for it and thought all was said and done.
To my ex-wife's surprise, when she took my daughter to check-in on the day of travel, she was charged an additional $50 at the counter for an unaccompanied-minor fee. She didn't think much of it and paid the fee. When I got to my airport to pick her up, I was informed that I would have to pay another $50 for her to go home. This didn't sit well with me as now her ticket ended up being $60 dollars more than Southwest would have charged. I was very upset that I was not informed of this fee. I contacted their reservations dept. And was informed that their website should have informed me of the fee and their policy for unaccompanied-minors was to age 15. All other airlines only charge a fee through the age of 11.
I started to do some research on their wesite and fould that their unaccompanied-minor policy and fee schedule was a pop-up and no where on the ticket printout was the added $50 fee each way. I felt that this was very deceptive due to the fact that 99.9% of all internet users use popup blockers on their web browsers. If Frontier Airlines was being forthright with their marketing policies, for starters, the fees should have been paid at the tiime of ticketing and secondly, the added charges should have at least been printed on the itinerary when paid for.
I feel that Frontier not only deceived me, but used dishonest marketing to intentionally "squeeze" more money from thier supposedly valued customers. If deceit was not their intention, the fee should have been charged when purchasing the ticket. Bottom line is, if you have a minor over the age of twelve, book on any other airline. The added $100 would have made the ticket cost more than any other airline that would not charge a fee for a 12 year old. I can guarantee that my 12 year old daughter uses less of the flight attendants time than any passenger drinking alcoholic beverages. What was the benefit of this added fee? Nothing!!!
