Ramada Plaza Resorts
Ripoff Hahaaa! I win! They TRIED to rip me off!

On March 26, I called this company about a "voucher" that my fiancee had received in the mail. I was told by Sonya that I would receive 3 days 2 nights at Ft. Lauderdale South Florida Plaza resort, 2 days and 2 nights to Nassau on Imperial Majesty Cruise lines, and then I would drive a car from Alamo rent a car to Orlando and stay 3 days and 2 nights at the Ramada Resort in Orlando.

I was promised a whole bunch of other things: $100 gas reimbursement, all meals on the cruise (which is standard on ANY cruise), free coffee, tea, and water (also standard), 10 BONUS VACATIONS, and any 3rd or 4th person can enjoy all this with myself and my fiancee for only $198!

I was given extra incentives because I complained about the price ($658 now and $658 at least two months before I decided to take my vacation). I was told I can set up a payment plan, I would get 13 vacations total for the price of one for FOUR people, and all meals would be paid for while in Florida.

I gave out my credit card number, and then came the verification which was recorded. I repeated everything Donna and Sonya told me and reconfirmed with Miler, the verification rep.

After I got off the phone with Miler, I was excited and decided to research the company (Something I will now do BEFORE I give any money). All I found on the net were countless reports on usacomplaints.com, Consumer Affairs, and Usa Consumer Complaints.com websites. I read about the different experiences, and the one that got me was the one that detailed the actual price for this vacation. So I investigated myself.

I was told by RPR that this vacation is worth $3000. After choosing the best hotels in Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando, and choosing Carnival Cruiselines over Imperial Majesty, my vacation should have been double what they were offering, right? I mean, these were better hotels than what they were claiming and even THEY admit Carnival is a better cruiseline than theirs. The vacation was only worth $1400... About the total of what I would have to pay anyway.

I also found out about the TIMESHARE... This was my lifesaver.

I called my bank and cancelled the card. I then called RPR and asked for a refund. I was told on the 27th by Lovell at 800-203-9783ext. 4031 that the payment plan was stopped and that nothing would be charged unless after I received the paper work I called the company back with my new credit card number.

On April 2, I received my new credit card and decided to check my balance. I noticed online that the $174 had in fact been charge; two days after Lovell told me I wouldn't be charged. So I called back.

I had to speak to 3 different people for about an hour, including Henry who had me repeating the phrase "I want to speak to a supervisor" for 15 minutes before I proceeded to cuss him out. He wanted to "explain" the offer. I told him I wasn't interested in the offer or the company and that I just wanted my money back. I told him that if he couldn't give me the money back, to transfer me to his supervisor. He kept talking. I told him that he was a disgrace to his company... No, a perfect representation because the number one priority of a Customer Specialist is to KEEP the customers, not piss them off which I told him he was doing. He then put me on hold for about 10 minutes before I spoke to Rochelle.

Rochelle was the Customer Specialist Supervisor (per her explanation). I told her how pissed off Henry had made me, explained what Lovell had promised, and what had actually happened.

The catch came when she told me this offer was Non-Refundable. I asked her what kind of idiot gives out a credit card number to a company he only knows about over the phone after being told the offer is non-refundable? She said, apparently I was, and that she had proof. I also told her NOTHING was said about the TIMESHARE during the verification. Again, she said she had proof that it was explained to me. I told her to play the tape - she said "why wouldn't I want to".

Hahahahaha! The tape mentioned nothing about a timeshare presentation, nothing about "Non-Refundable", and she felt STUPID. She did not apologize, but DID promise I would get a refund in 5 to 7 business days. Hahahaa. I am just wondering if I will still be receiving the two free airline passes that Lovell promised he'd send for my inconvenience.
