I am the victim of fraud. I made full payment for a Mediterranean cruise and a two-day stay in Barcelona, Spain using via Ellis Hester, owner of DEVA Travel, Inc. DEVA Travel was formerly located at: 1809 Black Horse Pike, Suite 4, Williamstown, NJ 08094, phone 856-262-9756. I contacted Ellis Hester in January/February of this year to join a group of relatives on a Mediterranean cruise that was planned since 2009.
I was able to room with a young lady in need of a roommate, and made an initial deposit of $500. I made a subsequent payment of $1800 on 2/15. And, final payment on 3/15. The deadline for payment-in-full was April 1. I contacted Ellis Hester via telephone and days later via email on April 15 to confirm all arrangements for the trip had been made There was no response. I contacted him again (cc: Denise Hall, my cousin) on April 19 and my email was returned. Ellis's email address is no longer valid.
Today, at 8pm EDT, I attended a conference call scheduled by Ellis Hester in which he explained that the monies for the trip were "misappropriated". This is the term he used to explain to 20 individuals who were paid in full for the cruise, amounting to over $68K! Our departure date is 5/31 and return date 6/12. Denise Hall, my cousin, has confirmed that there are no reservations with the cruise line — Carnival— on their newest ship, Magic. Also, there is only a $1400 deposit for air travel with 2 named travelers. Airfare was $1172 cruise cabin $1809 hotels and transfers $206 $25 pier to ship transfer $159 trip cancellation insurance for a total of $3369. I would like your assistance in obtaining a refund. Please note there are 20 total travelers that were defrauded.
