When I was contacted through the mail by Ramada Plaza Resorts, I thought this was our chance to take our family on a once-in-a-lifetime vacation, which we never had done in our 25 years of marriage.
They filled my head with thought of a fabulous, fun-filled vacation of luxury. I excitedly told my sister and her family and invited them to come along. After she checked them out on "google" she sadly told me that I had more than likely been ripped-off of my $1,500 plus dollars I charged to my credit as a down payment for the two packages I required for my family of six.
I am so saddened and depressed at how people can take advantage of the working person. I asked them several times to please reassure me that this would actually be the trip they promised and they did, in fact, reassure me. I blame myself for being so gullible.
I telephoned them tonight, 2/15/04, asking for a refund, saying I changed my mind and couldn't afford the trip. I made the reservation for the trip on 2/12/04 (late at night) so I thought I could get a refund in such a short time. They told me that they couldn't allow a refund but would give me an extension of 18 months to take the trip. There was nothing I could say, but now I am worried that they may have charged my credit card again for the extension!
I am contacting my credit card company as of now to see if I have any recourse for a credit to my account.
If anyone can help me, I would appreciate it very much!!
