Complete Disregard for the Customer - Hotels Booking

I booked a hotel room for my aunts and I through Expedia, and the site assured me that there was a room available. However, when we arrived at the hotel, we found that they had been booked up long before I made my reservation. Expedia had not bothered to check for vacancies. We then found out that, rather than wait until we checked out like they were supposed to, they had already charged the credit card, for a room that we didn't have. We were stranded at 10 PM with no hotel room, and, of course, no one at Expedia was available to answer their customer service line. I will NEVER use their service again.
