Against my better judgment, I decided to go to listen to a sales pitch that promised that we had won a prize, the smallest prize was a 27- inch T.V. After listening to a whole bunch of sales talk we were presented with some deals that sounded good on paper. We ended up signing up because we like to travel. I was very suspicious when at the end of all this, we were given a free travel to some suspicious destination as the prize. The next day, I looked up in the web site and found out that we really did not get anything for our money. We would still be paying for the trip and Vacation Station would keep our money.
Thank goodness for Kansas Law, they are required to give us a refund. The next day, we got all of the required documentation together and asked for a refund. We were ushered into someone's office and asked why we wanted to cancel. We said we did not have to give a reason. It appeared that we would not be left alone until we came up with a reason, so I told them that I looked in the web site and decided it was not a good deal. We got the signed cancellation receipt and were told that we would get a refund within 14 business days.
By now I was really suspicious of the company so I checked with my bank to see what I would need to do if I did not get a refund. I was told that by Visa rules, the merchant has 1 month to give a refund. As you can guess both the 14 days and the month have passed by and no refund! When I called to ask about it the refund, everyone in the office was busy. I insisted on talking to someone and Amber came on the line and told me refunds were done by someone else and the refund would be given one week after the expiration of the 14 days. Which is a clear violation of Visa rules. I do not have my refund yet but hope to appeal to Visa.
Don't make the same mistake I made, do NOT fall for the sales pitch.
