If there ever was a fraudulent sign advertising camping rate per night it is the one at Cherry Valley lakes in Beaumont Ca. It reads "$10.00 Per Night, Full hookup" in 30 inch capitol letters on a 5ft X12ft sign 40 ft in the air along Interstate 10 on the westerly side. Then in 2 inch letters, which from the ground is not ledge able it states Tour Required. Being a former volunteer worker doing security10 pm to 4am I say first hand and had to deal with 3-5 people each night who came looking for the $10.00 stay only to be told that if they didn't take the tour it would cost $50.00 for the night! In reality it was the old bait and switch scam. Additionally even if the person did want to take the tour they couldn't do it on Monday and Tuesday because the sales office was closed. This bait and switch got so bad with people getting upset that before I quit I started talking thru the intercom radio to the new arrivals rather then face to face contact so as not to be put in harms way. And the Owners really think this is a good way to force the people to sign up for membership?
