Last year, my daughter and I were booked and fully paid to go on a Carnival Cruise from Galveston to Montego Bay, Grand Cayman and Cozumel, in the last week of October.
In late August, we informed our travel agent, Laura Salisbury, that we would be unable to go. My daughter works in a child development center and must provide substitute teachers if she is absent. Her substitutes had quit unexpectedly and she could not take off the time without being fired. As she was my travel partner, I could not afford the cabin alone. Our agent told us that the insurance which she had sold us would cover the full cost of the canceled cruise, but gave us no information for months. When we finally received the proper form, we duly filed with the company, Berkely Care, which denied our claim. Laura supposedly contacted Carnival about the remainder of our money, but so far I have received only a fraction of the refund and my daughter, who paid in cash, has received *nothing*. I have repeatedly emailed Laura trying to get her to take action but she keeps stalling. Carnival Cruise maintains that it is the responsibility of the travel agent to obtain the refund.
It has been more than a year since we notified Carnival Cruise and Laura Salisbury of our cancellation. We want our money back!
