I had the unfortunate experience to drive 5 hours in the middle of the night to Best in of Marion only to be told that my registration had been cancelled because the credit card machines and other nonesense had required the manager to cancel all reservations at 6:00. (Credit card hold noth withstanding) The manager by 2:00 am was upstairs in a room and requested that he not be disturbed. Additionally, by this being parents weekend all the rooms in the Carbondale surrounding are were booked solid.
Here I am, my fiance and myself here to visit my daughter who attends SIUC for the weekend and we have no place to stay. To make a long story short I wound up driving from hotel to motel in the hopes that at 3:00am there may have been one no show and we could bed down. As luck would have it we found a place in Carbondale for one night, we were in town for the weekend so it was off to the races in the morning to secure another room.
I am writing this report to give a heads up to anyone who even thinks about this Inn as a plausible place to stay and do business with. Think twice no three time and remember this tale before you book a room and drive all night. The manager is rude and crude and the 1800 number for customer service is no better. So before you get ripped off of a place to stay just "NOT and say you didn't. This establishment is the worst.
