We had purchased the air travel ticket from Sunnyvale travels. We were planning to travel with our 4 months infant, and so inquired about baggage and other requirements. During this process we contacted two representatives from sunnyvale travels (1) Karishama, (2) Deepali. Both were very helpful, but after asking repetedly about baggage requiement for infant, they mentioned that we can carry 50 pound bag on behalf of our infant son. After that we confirmed with them over phone twice and got the same answer.
Being confident with the support sunnyvale travel, we packed the 50 pound bag for my son with all the essential things he might need. Our son will be in india for few months, and so we needed more needed stuff.
When We reached the airport, and Airlines officers said on behalf of infant we can only carry 25 pounds. They did not listen to our statement that travel agent told us that we can carry 50 pound bag. Ok then i aksed then what will be the surcharge. To my surprise they said we have to pay $130 for this bag. If we had 25 pound bag we dont have to. So we had to pay $130 as well as we lost the opportunity to carry essential stuff in 25 pound bag.
We called Sunnyvale travels, and they said airline did not tell us about the rule change. The baggage rule was updated few months back. So due to lack of updated information from sunnyvale travel, we had to pay $130 as well as lost our opportunity to carry essential stuff.
To my surprise Sunnyvale did not know the rule that Korean airlines updated their baggage policy. When we called then... What we got is cold apology... But in this country aplogy does not give us our hard earned $130. Thats all. I lost confidence in Sunnyvale travels, and learnt a lesson.
