My sister and I booked a 3 day 4 night vacation to Cancun with Funjet. We paid well over $1,000.00 for this trip. Upon arrival to our hotel we found the conditions to be deplorable. The room smelled musty, the curtains were torn, and the paint was peeling off the walls, the furniture looked like someone took a hammer to it.
We contacted a funjet representative who helped us relocate to more suitable accomadations. This move costed us an additonal $550.00 Plus the orignal hotel with which we were book charged us $200.00 because they did not have 24 hour cancellation notice.
When we returned home we contacted Funjet and after months of phone calls and aggravation we came to an agreement that funjet would give us a voucher for the $200.00 we paid for the room we never stayed in. The also paid us the difference between the rack rate and full price for the new room.
In October my sister was notified that her credit card was being charged $200.00 for the vouchers that we had recieved. Funjet has withdrawn their promise to settle this issue fairly. Therefore I find no other recourse than to file this report, and also a report to the BBB.
P.S. The agency we booked this trip with is called "The Tavel Bag" in New Lenox Illinois.
