Wow! That's all I can say!
Having been on approximately 20 cruises in my lifetime, I would say I have a good idea what to expect when going on a cruise.
I must say my hopes weren't too high as I was given this "free" cruise when I purchased a new vehicle... But what the heck... It was free and I figured my wife and I could use a little weekend getaway.
After registering and paying for our port taxes we were told to call back in 48 hours to select a sail date. When calling back I was instantly pressured in upselling tactics trying to get more $ out of me. I agreed to a $99 upgrade for an outside cabin. I was then later told that if I wanted a cabin with a TV in the room I would have to pay an additional $150.00. What!!! I said I only wanted to use the TV... Not buy it. Besides, I have never gone on any cruise line where there wasn't a TV in EVERY cabin.
When I asked that I paid $99 for an "upgrade" I was wondering if the origonal cabin was inside the boat, or was I going to hanging from the bow?
Needless to say... After being transferred to 6 different customer service agents I finally was able to cancel my transaction with this rediculous cruise line.
Now I will just have to wait if I ever "actually" receive my money back? My bet is that will never happen. If it does, great! If not... I consider it money well spent NOT to go on this cruise line.
For me I will be taking my money and booking a cruise either with Carnival, or Royal Caribbean. At least I know what I am getting when I walk on one of their ships. Not to mention... I can get a cruise with them CHEAPER than I would getting a "free" cruise from Caribbean Cruise Line.
