Rip off MWI will only offer partial refund, monthly charge since 1998, appears as a bank charge on statement, deceptive, never authorized

MWI has taken a monthly amount of $8.25 out of our primary checking account since September 1998 with out our knowledge.

Bank One has gone over and above their regular duties to help us solve this matter. I am thoroughly impressed with their customer service department.

It has always appeared as a bank charge and that is what I thought the charge was for until I happened to be speaking with a customer service rep at Bank One.in which, I casually asked, "by the way what is that $8.25 charge for?"

Upon further investigation from the customer service rep, at Bank One, stated that we were a member of something from a bank. I replied we are customers of Bank One but I am not aware of any membership to the bank. She advised me to go into the bank branch with my statements and speak to a Branch manager.

My husband and I went to the branch as she stated and they had us contact a District Manager at Bank One. The District Manager had to go through several steps to see who was taking this money out of our checking account.

Bank One determined it was a charge that ran through a Wells Fargo account so Bank One thought it was a bank charge as well.

Further investigation at length, from Bank One determined that the Company's name was MWI Gallaria. The District Manager from Bank One gave me the number of 1-888-206-2321 and suggested I call the company and demand a full refund.

The District Manager told me about the web-site of Usa Consumer Complaints.com.Com, in which he found the information regarding this company. He thought they would refund our money without any problems or delays.

He also suggested that if I felt uneasy or if I could not get any satisfaction to please call him back and he would help us as much as he could.

When I contacted MWI at the above phone number and spoke to a customer service rep. Named, Betty, she asked for and I gave her my membership ID. I received the membership ID from Bank One. It came up as someone else's account. I still have the membership ID number that I gave her. She then asked for my home phone number and pulled an account up bearing our name on their computer screen.

I asked her what kind of membership this was and she stated that it was some kind of health membership. I explained that I would not have signed up for something like this because I literally have a health club included in our homeowners association just right down the street.

The customer service rep, Betty then transferred me to a supervisor, Jason Chapman. Mr. Chapman explained that the charges were for a discount prescription and or medical services.

We have no knowledge of this benefit, no card has ever been issued to us or enrollment information sent to us on how to use this service.

I then explained that we have excellent medical/dental/prescription/eye coverage from my husband's company and we can not imagine signing up for or authorizing any kind of service like this.

This monthly charge is not justified and we would not enroll in a benefit of this nature as we already have this as an employee company benefit.

In speaking to Mr. Chapman, he agreed to refund 24 months @ $8.25 in the beginning of the conversation. He also stated that this charge was not a "monthly charge, " and I replied, I have my monthly bank statements from 2000 to present and that yes in fact that it was monthly reoccurring charge. I have the bank statements to prove that is was a monthly reoccuring charge dating from October 1998.

I explained, the refund he was offering me was not sufficient as this charge has been reoccurring on my account since October 1998. He then agreed to refund 30 months @ $8.25 which would appear on my bank statement in two to three weeks. He further stated that I should fax my bank statement in order for him to go to his superiors for the rest of the refund amount. He gave me a fax number of 402-661-2189.

I then called Bank One and the assistant District manager advised me to not fax my bank statement because they have already fraudulently taken money out of my account. The District manager of Bank one offered to verify that it was a monthly charge beginning in Oct. 1998.

The District Manager from Bank One called Mr. Jason Chapman and they did refund only the 30 months @ $8.25 within a couple of days.

This refund is still not sufficient. Bank One, also agrees the refund is still not sufficient and suggested I go further to file a complaint.

Mr. Chapman is stating customer responsibility for the reason of not refunding the total amount.

Bank One agrees that we should NOT be held responsible as it does appear as a "bank transaction" charge on our bank statement.

Bank One also stated that this charge was not authorized and from a consumer point of view, we did not know what the charge was for and we should not be held responsible." We also have never received any goods or services from this company for the money that was deducted from our checking account which constitutes fraud.

The total remaining amount of money which should be refunded is at least $200.00. This amount only covers the deducted monthly amount. This does not constitute the time invested to clear this matter up or bank fees.
