4th of july disaster
On 3/7 flight tickets were purchased thru Expedia for travel from New Bern, NC to Portland, Oregon, for dates 4 July thru 7 July. Expedia itinerary number 122983983809, Airline ticket number 067119236340-347, United confirmation code: MRSBMF.
On 7/3 I call US Airways (1-800-428-4322) to confirm my reservation for my flight from New Bern, NC to Portland, Oregon; I was informed that Expedia purchased the tickets thru United Airways (1-800-241-6522). I was told that flight is confirmed and that I was good to go.
On 7/4 I went to the New Bern airport (EWN) upon checking in the ticket agent could not locate me on their computer. The ticket agent left went to a back office and a little later came out and said he was able to get me thru to Portland and issued boarding passes thru to Portland, but said I may have problems in Portland. The flight from New Bern, NC to Portland, Oregon went fine.
On 7/6 I checked with United Airways about my flight from Portland, Oregon to New Bern, NC. We went thru my flight summary and everything was ok.
On 7/7 upon checking in with United Airways in Portland, Oregon, I was told they could not connect me with flight from Chicago, Ill. To Charlotte, NC and from Charlotte, NC to New Bern, NC. That would have to go to a US Airways agent in Chicago to get a flight thru to Charlotte to New Bern.
When I got to Chicago Ill., I checked in with the US airways agent in the terminal, I was told I wasn’t on the computer and seeing how the ticket were purchased from United Airways by Expedia, that I needed to go to United and clear this up. I went to United, they could not find me on the computer either. I had Expedia on the phone when I was talking with the United ticket agent and was told by Expedia that there was nothing they could do and that I would have to handle it, because they had all my flight confirmed by the air lines and as far as they were concern it wasn’t their problem. The United ticket agent told me there was nothing they could do that I would have to go the US Airway ticket agent. The US airway ticket agent could not find my reservation either right away. Finally she found out that on 17th, 18th, and 19th of March that my reservations were cancelled because they did not have ticket numbers. I also found out that the flight number 3523 from Charlotte to New Bern was not a good flight number the correct flight number was 4260. After all this I could not get on the flight that I was scheduled go on to Charlotte, NC, flight Number 2367. I got on flight number 3203 to Charlotte NC. I got into the Charlotte airport just before they started loading for flight 4260 to New Bern, the plane was full and I could not get on this flight to New Bern. I had to spent the night in Charlotte and leave the next day on 7/8 on flight number 2390. I got into New Bern about 0840.
My baggage was checked in at Portland on 7/7 made it to New Bern. It was there waiting for me when I arrived on 7/8. Question how did my baggage make it to New Bern if I didn’t have a flight reservation from Chicago to Charlotte to New Bern?
All the people that I talked with during this whole time were very nice. But they couldn’t correct the problem.
It cost me $57.02 to stay over night in Charlotte, NC.
Someone needs to be held accountable.
