Sundance Vacations
Sundance Waste of Time

This experience was horrible. I received a phone call from a cheerful customer service type rep stating I won a free cruise on an entry form I filled out at a Flyers game. After questioning the rep I was told I did not win a vacation, but was being offered a gift, along with many others who filled the entry forms, in exchange for listening to 1 hour presentation to introduce there company, Sundance Vacations. I was told up front, I only needed to pay about $200 per person to go on the cruise. I was also told I would have a year to use this offer and nothing would be paid until I booked the cruise. I told the rep I would think about it and get back to them. My girl friend was cool to the idea so I did not call back. After multiple phone calls over the next month or so, we decided to give it a shot. We made an appointment and went to there Princeton office. After signing in, about ten of us were ushered into the presentation room. The presenter, the manager, said his presentation would only take an hour, then we could ask questions and we would be shown how to register for our cruise. However about 20 minutes into his ultra boring presentation he told us we could buy vacations at wholesale prices. They offer 25 vacations for $15,000 that could be used over the next 30 years. He said that would be $600 a vacation. Destinations were on Sundance properties in Hawaii, the Bahamas, Florida, Myrtle Beach, Mexico, Ocean City Md., Smokey Mountains and others. Nothing outside North America. He then told us about a today only offer. Thirty vacations for $12,000 and smaller vacations for $198 a year off their excess inventory list. We later found out you could finance this amount through their bank at a probable high interest rate. Then you vacations would cost thousands more because you would have to pay the interest. How about travel, food, theme park tickets etc.? Sounded like you would be paying the same or more as you do now. Finally he pushed a button and a buzzer sounded and the sales people entered the room. They escorted you individually into a larger room to begin the hard sell. They tried to entice you into buying a package at rate above. Then they began to offer special deals (partial packages, trial plans etc.). They brought in an obnoxious closer. When we said no, she asked us why not? They tried to play my girlfriend against myself. After saying no about 20 times, they apparently finally gave up. You were next taken to a smaller room to talk to what we considered a small slimy man. He then proceeded to offer us deals that he stated could not be offered out there. We refused again. He seemed insulted. He offered us to our prize. He rudely handed us a pamphlet from a third party, Spirit Incentives, and told me to sign a list and follow the instructions on the back. Then I was shown the door. I started to ask questions first and found you had to pay for the taxes up front, had to pay a $100 reservation deposit and there were many blackout dates and restrictions. It looks like booking a cruise would a great deal of work. So after we made back to the parking lot after 2 miserable hours, my girlfriend told me, "I owe her big time."
