I booked a 3 day 2 night package thru Save On Resorts Reservations on the net. I knew it was a ploy to buy a timeshare but we were not interested in timeshares. I just wanted the free tickets to Disney etc.
Check in time was 4 pm on 2/17/09 as stated on the confirmation which meant the entire first day was wasted. Check out time was 10 am on 2/19/09 which was another wasted day. We could not get any of the free stuff until we attended the presentation which was suppose to last only 90 minutes. It took 2hours and 20 minutes leaving just enough time to get the last bus to the theme park at Disney.
I have attended timeshare presentations before but this was the most unorganized one yet. They had so many buildings to get vouchers, transit tickets for the shuttle, tickets for the park, check in building, check out building etc... We were running around in circles.
They put us on the 3 floor of a condo unit. We are seniors and did not appreciate using an elevator or stairs then going through a passageway in order to get to our assigned condo at the end of the building. It was extremely unpleasant and tiring and this was suppose to be a PACKAGE VACATION... HA...
We could only use the free theme park tickets due to time scheduling and their rules!!!
I feel they are using consumers as a ploy in order to sell timeshares and their advertisements are not truthful. The booking company was not forthright in giving us detailed information and they were not accurate with their information.
It's unfortunate that companies like Calypso Cay must resort to such low efforts in order to scam consumers. I also realize that sales reps must make a living but to continue with the presentation when we told them from the very beginning NO and again NO... Is a waste of time and effort on the consumers part.
The whole experience was not pleasant and I wish there was more honesty in this country especially in this economy. I would never never recommend Save on Resorts Reservations or Calypso Cay Resort to anyone and will pass the word on to all the people I know.
