Ok everyone I had never had a problem with TACA until today and I want to advise you all - specially all my Salvadorean people who are hard workers - Ok so I travelled to El Salvador on December 24- I was suppose to return to JFK (NY) on January 2- I was unable to return on that day because I was in the hospital with Neumonia and so my doctor typed a letter regarding my condition and that I was unable to travel that day. My aunt went to the TACA office in Metro Centro, San Salvador, to show "la constansa" and she was advised that the first flight with seats available was January 13. I took that flight and the day came for me to come back feeling better - I went in airport, stood in line for like an hour and then checked in. The customer service rep advised that I would not get charged for switching my flight because of the "constansa"- It all went normal - I got to the gate and then I saw my seat assigned - I was assigned to seat number 3- I though to myself "man, i'll be the last one to be on the plane cause they board back to front"- so I stood there until I thought I had to board - I went in the plane and i saw that it was first class - I kept looking at my ticket to see if it was right n it was right it was seat 3- I thought "ok i guess they didn't have rm in the economy class for me - so everything went normal - I didn't even eat first class food cause my aunt had bought me pollo campero bc i had NO IDEA I WAS GOING TO SIT IN FIRST CLASS - OK HERE'S THE PROBLEM!!!
I CHECKED MY CHECKING ACCOUNT YESTERDAY AND SAW THAT TACA TOOK $1,063.47 OUT OF MY ACCOUNT - i immediately called TACA and they told me that it was bc i came back to ny in executive class - yesterday n today i was arguing over the phone with them that I never requested to sit in executive class n i was never informed that I was going to have a first class seat - TACA was like "well you did seat on first class"- this is all a set up! So anyone switching a flight or even when u buy a flight make sure u dont get seat 1-3 or depending on the plane - but if you get single digits as your seat pay extra attention n make sure it's not first class - On my way to NY I spoke to the passenger also sitting nxt to me n i told her that i was sitting in firt class without even knowing it before - she told me they had done the same thing with her (she had switched her flight n they placed her in 1st class)- SO IN OTHER WORDS SHE IS PROBABLY GETTING CHARGED $1,000 TOO! - I am going to a TACA office located in Jamaica Avenue, New York and see if i can fix this even though all the reps on the phone said to me "this already happened, it's in the past"- I am a full-time student right now about to go to law school in the fall and I would never in a million years travel in first class bc it's more than double your flight - I barely had $1,000 in my bank account which was to buy the rest of my books this semester and GRUPO TACA stole it!!! My mom thank God was nice enough to pay for my books today but TACA better give me my money back! - so again everyone out ther WATCH OUT!!
