I made the mistake of buying some points from Diamond Resorts a year ago.
When I tried to use them I was told, at first, that half had expired. Customer service was no help, so I used their email the Chairman page. Someone did contact me and tell me that the points had been entered in the computer and I could use them to book. When I tried to book they told me that yes, they were in the computer, but I couldn't use them to book the time I wanted. The customers services representative laughed at my wife when she tried to explain what we had agreed to buy, and said, "SALES WILL TELL YOU ANYTHING YOU WANT TO HEAR TO GET YOU TO SIGN"
Now they will not reply to emails or address the problem in anyway. It is a stone wall.
I have since learned that they were once partners with Vacations Inernationale, but have now put a fence right down the middle of VI's property in Mazatlan. They also gratuitously destroyed the facilities on "their" side of the fence.
IT is my impression from what they said at their sales presentation and what I have since read, that their business plan is a simply one: THEY INTEND TO FORCE OUT THE OLD TRENDWEST OWNERS WITH EXHORBITANT FEES AND THEN RESELL THEIR POINTS.
Apparently new Diamond owners like myself will not be treated any better.
