We bought a two bedroom timeshare at the Ridge in Sedona while it was called Sunterra. Now Diamond Resorts International runs it and fees have have hit the ceiling for us. Our maintanancve fees were $400 for a two bedroom and club fees were $139.00. We were told when we bought that this was the way to lock in prices for our vacations as prices would continue to go up in the tourism industry, thus making our investment a worthwhile choice.
Now in our fees with club fees is over $1600, and we have paid every year except this year as too much is too much. We recieve 10,000 points for our two bedroom timeshare, but that is not enough now to use it for a whole week in prime time. We were mislead, lied too, and paid over $17,000 for our timeshare at our initial purchase.
We can now buy from other unhappy timeshare owners the same two bedroom for under $2,000, including transfer fees. When there is a class action suit against Diamond Resorts, i will be happy to sign up.
