After a 1 night stay at the Red Roof Inn, and checking out with a credit card, I checked the website of my card and to my dismay, the charge was $10 higher than the agreed price including taxes. I called the Inn and was told they will refund that in 7-10 days in case I had any local calls or rented movies.
In this electronic world, I can promise they would know immediately if either happened. Think about it: there are 325 Red Roof Inns (per their website), assume 200 units per property that is 65000 units available every night. Now assume 70% occupancy rate that amounts to 45,400 units per night being charged $10. They now have $454,500 for 10 days to use as they wish with no cost to them! And that my friends is a RIP OFF...
