Bestfares
Com bait and switch, misleading advertising, consumer rip-off fraud

Bestfares member travel deals are rarely if ever available. The agent always tries to get you to buy a higher priced ticket or hotel room. If an airfare is available the convoluted routing is impractical.

Many of the direct monthly specials are "come ons". I called Budget to price out a car rental only to find that the 20% discount special was 10% higher then the rate available through other online travel sites. It is obvious that Bestfares prints any add without checking out the validity of the advertisers claim.

On joining (and paying a membership fee) Bestfares sends a booklet of reduced price offers. Wanted to stay in Tampa so I checked out the Radisson (buy one night, get a second night free) offer. First I checked the Radisson website to find the room rate. It was $149/night for the days I wanted. Called the special booking number for the Bestfares special rate. The rate averaged $155/night. The second night was obviously not free.

When one complains to Bestfares one receives no response.

Save your money. Stay away from Bestfares. Try Priceline for your travel needs.
