On Oct. 3 I purchased a ticket from Charleston, Sc to Miami with the following leg of my journey from Tulsa, Ok back to Charleston. Travel insurance was offered and I purchased this insurance along with my ticket. Everything was fine until 4 days before my trip. The contract company that I was working for at the time began a reduction in force on Oct. 10. I do not have a cristal ball nor can I predict the future.
I filed a claim for with the travel insurance company on approx. Oct. 13 and I heard nothing from them. Roughly 3 weeks passed and I called to inquire about the status of my claim. They knew nothing and another week went by. A claims person from the company called me and told me that they were not going to pay my claim because I had not been with my employer for at least 3 and a half years. I am a contractor. My job may last 3 days or 3 years, I never know what is going to happen.
On page 20 of the contract that they provided by email is a "FRAUD STATEMENT." This statement should be modified to say that they "ENTEND TO COMMIT FRAUD." I have all of the correspondence provided by this alleged insurance company.
If you plan to travel then do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. They will rip you off!!!
