I purchased this package ($698) about a year ago. The day after I did I started researching the company on the web. After finding out about the Imperial Majesty I called to cancel my trip. I was told I could upgrade to a carnival ship for only the cost of port charges for my kids. I decided to take that offer (they also extended the time I could take the trip).
Early this year my wife and I decided to start planning for the trip. That is when I really started finding bad info on RPR. I called twice early in January and asked for a refund, I was told I could not get a refund but I could transfer the trip. With all the bad pub. And states filing against RPR I knew I wouldn't be able, nor would I want, to transfer this trip.
I ended up writing letters to Dan Lambert, RPR, Joanne Kraynak, Florida Attorney General's office, and the FL. Dept. Of Agriculture and Consumer Services. I sent these letters on Jan. 13 and 14 2003. Today (1/23/03) I checked my credit card balance online I there was a FULL REFUND.
Don't know if it helped or not but I was never rude in my phone conversations, nor did I drop a bunch of accusations in my letters. I just stated facts.
I also talked to someone at the Dept. Of Agrig. And Consumer Services and she told me even though there were hundreds of complaints against RPR over the last few years virtually all were resolved to the consumers satisfaction.
