STA Travel switched my flight without notification, horrible customer service

When I initially went to the (now closed) STA office at my university to book a flight, the price they quoted me was $50 more than the same flight advertised on their web site. When I informed them of this, they stated the web site prices aren't updated regularly. Therefore, their web prices are quite misleading on a regular basis. I ended up buying the ticket from them anyway. Then STA screwed me over by switching my flight without notifying me, causing me to miss my flight. When I called customer service about it, the rep tried to spin it as if it was my fault, and tried to make me pay more money. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was told a supervisor was not in. How does an organization operate with no supervisor? An American Airlines rep helped me by getting me on the next standby flights at no extra cost, which wasn't even offered to me by the STA rep, who stated she had just spoken with American Airlines for me. Because of this, I will gladly encourage anyone to never book anything with this organization.
