This company hired me claiming I would make $700 to $800 a week free and clear. I had no experience, I am female and have been a hairdresser for 18 yrs.
My first day I was picked up at my house and taken around to both major airports in the Chicago area and was shown arrival and departure procedures. This day of training was not paid. I was given a Lincoln Towncar Sedan to take home that night which by then had no gas in it.
So that evening I put $50 of gas in the car, I was told I needed an Ipass which was $52 and the "Change Oil Light" was on and I was insrtucted to go to Jiffy Lube which cost another $39.
I worked for this company for a total of 5 days, early morning (4:15) and late nights (9:30) I worked to exhaustion until I didnt feel safe driving as tired as I was.
The car had dash lights on that I didnt know what they were, and the back tire had a quarter size bubble protruding out of it that scared me alot and nothing was done about it so I ended up quitting.
My total expenses for these 5 days were $371.00
Gas
IPass tolls
Car washes
and I have a charge card that proves it!
I counted at least 68 hrs that I worked that week and when I got paid I realized I made $3.48 hr after deducting expenses.
So what the say is true. Never take a job where you have to put out money first!
Beware dont be fooled like I was.
And I didnt even mention the 3 trips downtown Chicago to Wrigley Field when the Sox were Playing the Cubs...
